After more than forty years I spent in the vastness of science and knowledge within the framework of our beloved Libyan universities, where I had the honor of educating, teaching and qualifying huge numbers of graduates, as well as the honor of being assigned, during my period of work as a professor in Libyan universities, to undertake many administrative and academic tasks in the field of education, strategic planning, translation and scientific research. At the top of these tasks was the presidency of Omar Al-Mukhtar University in the city of Al-Bayda, for two terms and for a period of
more than sixteen years.
Then I had the honor of working in many regional and international organizations as a representative of the Libyan state, and as an independent international expert in these organizations for a period of more than nineteen years. Along these years, I learned and gained, thanks to God, a wealth of international experience in various vital issues of paramount importance in building human societies and in building states. At the forefront of these issues is the issue of Food Security, as it is an integral part of national security, and constitutes a basic foundation upon which countries build strategies, draw up plans, programs, and policies. At the same level of importance, comes the issue of Human Development and Capacity Building, for which huge budgets are allocated to meet the challenges facing human development, through enhancing their capabilities and developing their skills socially, culturally and technologically. Certainly, we all realize that human development – in all its aspects – is the cornerstone and even the backbone of all means to achieve societal prosperity and comprehensive sustainable development in human societies.
During these stages of my career history and practical life, I also realized the extreme importance of studying foreign languages, and learning their literatures and cultures. Because of its profound impact on expanding the awareness and horizons of language on learners and speakers; languages, enhance their abilities to communicate and gain experience; not only at the personal level, but beyond it to be reflected at the level of public, private and civil society institutions. Learning and mastering languages has become a necessity dictated by the nature of our present time, and is no longer a social luxury that some societal groups brag about, as was the case decades ago.
Encumbered with these ideas and loaded with broad aspirations and horizons, I returned to my homeland, and the idea came to establish an academy to teach languages and participate in laying the foundations for human development in Libya. I believe it would be a great contribution and an appreciated effort to qualify a generation of promising young people. We count on this generation to create an advanced, sophisticated society that keeps pace with civilizational, cultural, technical, and informational development; and in the meantime, contributes to achieving the national strategic vision.
We have been keen to design training programs according to the Comprehensive and Integrated Concept; aiming to link between, the comprehensive quality management and the integration of development processes, and; the development programs and plans of the country, so that theoretical and applied aspects are combined in the fields of human and institutional development.
May God fulfill our intentions, as He is the grantor of success.
